Habitat for Humanity of Delaware & Union Counties welcomes Leslie and her daughter into our Homeownership Program!

"Having a Habitat home means relief!

It is such a blessing to have the opportunity to partner with such a powerful ministry that helps so many people like us."

Leslie and her teenage daughter live in Delaware County. They currently live with Leslie's parents in a home that is not handicap-accessible, something that her daughter greatly needs. "My daughter is a 16-year-old with special needs, and we have had our share of challenges, but we know that with God, all things are possible."

After learning about Habitat through her daughter's case worker, Leslie decided to apply to our Homeownership Program.

Having a Habitat home means relief...both physically and financially. Our future home will meet the needs of my handicap daughter, which for me means less wear and tear on my body and greater comfort and independence for my daughter. It is a dream of ours to be able to afford a nice, accesible home that meets my budget.
— Leslie

Since being accepted into the program, Leslie has begun working on her 300 Sweat Equity hours that are required in our Homeownership Program. After completing 30 hours, friends and family will be able to help by contributing up to 100 hours. Once completed, the home will be sold to her at fair market value with a zero-interest, affordable mortgage.

"My prayer is that God continues to bless this ministry and that it will always have enough volunteers and donors that will continue to reflect the image and love of Christ."

Please consider partnering with Leslie to help her realize her dream of homeownership by making a financial contribution or volunteering alongside her on the job site. Together, we can build strong foundations...one home at a time.
