Women Build Week 2019
May 11 - 18
About Women Build
Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build Week is an annual weeklong event that invites women to devote at least one day to help families build strength, stability and independence through building safe, affordable homes. This week spotlights the homeownership challenges faced by women and empowers women of all different ages, backgrounds and industries to come together to build homes and make a powerful and visible impact on our local community through housing.
100% of the funds raised during Women Build Week will go towards our 2 Habitat home builds this spring. Learn more about future Habitat homeowners currently in our program here.
Get Involved during Women Build Week
There are several ways to get involved with Women Build Week:
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need experience in construction?
No experience is required to help on the job site, volunteers of all skill levels are invited to build with us. Our construction manager will train all volunteers on skills needed to complete the projects for that day, and all tools will be provided!
Are men allowed?
Yes, all are welcome to volunteer during Women Build Week. This week provides a place for women to learn the skills needed to build a home, but that does not exclude men from participating.
How old do you have to be to work on the job site?
You must be at least 16 years or older to work on a Habitat for Humanity job site. However, there are opportunities for minors to help, including providing lunch for construction volunteers, participating at Walls Builds, helping to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity, volunteering at special Habitat events throughout the year, and those 14 years or older can help in the Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
