The Rizo Family
Habitat for humanity of delaware & Union Counties is excited to welcome
the Rizo family
to our homeownership program!
For years, Rafael and Angelica have been raising their children in a two-bedroom apartment so small that they cannot even enjoy a family meal together because the dining space does not fit them all.
They have always had faith that they would one day be able to afford a home that fits their growing family. "We have prayed for the opportunity to have an affordable home that our children can grow up in and to inspire them to one day become homeowners themselves," said Rafael, "To have four bedrooms, a safe yard for the kids to play in, and a dining room where we can all eat together will make our lives so much better."
Rafael is employed with a local landscaping company and Angelica cares for the children at home. They learned about Habitat through a relative and, after visiting our website, decided that they were ready to apply for the Homeownership Program.
Rafael and Angelica are required to complete 300 hours of sweat equity in the Habitat program, including 14 hours of homeownership classes. Once their home is complete, it will be sold to them at fair market value with a zero-interest, affordable mortgage.
Please consider partnering with the Rizo family to help them realize their dream of homeownership by making a financial contribution to this build or by volunteering alongside them on the job site. Together, we can build strong foundations...one home at a time.
