The Hughes Family

Habitat for Humanity of Delaware & Union Counties is delighted to introduce The Hughes Family to our home ownership program. Rebecca “Becky” is a hard working
single mother who is struggling to make ends meet and provide for her daughters, Nicole and Jane.

Becky is employed in Delaware County and works “picking” parts, using the latest technology, for over two-hundred auto parts stores. Nicole and Jane attend school in Delaware and they love to draw pictures. Nicole also loves to read and Jane likes to ride her bike.

Becky stated that the Habitat home ownership opportunity is a blessing to her family. She explained that because her rent is so expensive she constantly struggles. “It is hard
living paycheck to paycheck.” Becky and her beautiful daughters have been waiting for this moment and are very excited to move in to their new home soon!

The girls said that they are looking forward to having their own bedrooms and a new backyard where they can play with their dogs Duncan, Ruby, and their newest edition Gunner. They are also happy to be moving out of their current neighborhood.

Becky learned about the home ownership opportunity from a good friend that works with a resource agency in Delaware. Becky was approved for the program in January 2016. Becky has earned her 300 hours of sweat equity by attending Home Buyer Education
classes, volunteering on the construction sites, assisting within the office and ReStore.

Congratulations to The Hughes Family!
