Swinging a hammer is not the only way to volunteer at Habitat! Due to the tremendous amount of planning and management required to build just one home, we have a constant need for committee members and volunteers to help with various other tasks. Here are a few of our non-construction volunteer needs:
Habitat Committee Members are a vital part of our organization, working directly with affiliate staff and volunteers to help further our mission of building simple, decent, affordable housing. As a committee member, you will attend monthly meetings, interact with like-minded individuals and see real change happening as a result of your contributions! You may be interested in supporting one of the following committees:
Family Support – Work in partnership with families throughout the Habitat program. This opportunity can include becoming a Habitat PAL (Partner/Advocate/Liaison), a rewarding experience that requires a longer commitment.
Family Selection – Help attract, review and choose partner families, read and evaluate credit reports, perform home visits and assist in the application process.
ReStore – Help develop ways to promote the Restore to the public, contractors, and organizations.
Church Relations – Work to get the word out to potential partner families, volunteers, donors and the general community about the mission of Habitat for Humanity.
Grant Writing – Research available grants which could benefit the Delaware County Habitat affiliate and our families.
Fundraising – Work to plan and execute various fundraising events along with Habitat staff.
Office – Our office offers flexible scheduling opportunities. Duties vary and include stuffing envelopes and general office duties.
